第八届亚太地区电子自旋共振学术会议（第一轮通知）

　　第八届亚太地区电子自旋共振学术会议（8th Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Symposium，APES2012）将于2012年10月11-15日在北京举行，由清华大学化学系承办。

　　自1997年以来，已先后在中国香港和杭州、日本神户、印度班加罗尔、俄罗斯诺沃西比尔斯克(新西伯利亚)、澳大利亚凯恩斯和韩国济州岛举办过七届APES会议。APES会议是EPR/ESR专家学者及厂家聚会交流的重要平台，它不仅仅吸引了亚太各国各地区的，而且还吸引了世界各地的EPR/ESR专家学者前来参加。APES会议将围绕各种EPR/ESR技术（CW EPR/ESR、pulsed EPR、high frequency 和 high field EPR, ENDOR、time resolved EPR、FMR、EPRI、CIDEP 和 ODMR等）在医药、环境、生物学、化学、材料学及纳米科学等各领域的应用及理论研究的最新进展与动态进行广泛的学术交流与讨论。

8th Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Symposium(APES 2012)

　　The First Announcement

　　Dear friends and colleagues,

　　On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to participate in the 8th Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Symposium (APES 2012) which will be held in October 11-15,2012 at Tsinghua Science Park in Beijing, China. This is the eighth symposium following the successful APES 1997 (Hong Kong, China), APES 1999 (Hangzhou,China), APES 2001 (Kobe, Japan), APES 2004 (Bangalore, India), APES 2006 (Novosibirsk, Russia), APES 2008 (Cairns, Australia), and APES 2010 (Jeju, Korea).Now APES comes back to China again. This implies that APES 2012 will be a new start for Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Society.

　　APES 2012 is intended to stimulate discussions on the forefront of research in all aspects of EPR/ESR ranging from theoretical and experimental advances in CW EPR/ESR, pulsed EPR, high frequency and high field EPR, ENDOR, time resolved EPR, FMR, EPRI, CIDEP and ODMR to applications in medicine, biology, chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology.

　　APES 2012 will be an excellent place for exchanging scientific ideas with strong friendship among the participants from Asia-Pacific region as well as other parts of theworld. We sincerely hope that the scope of the symposium will serve the interest of the scientific community, as well as the industry and the general public. I wish to extend my welcome to all participants and sponsors of the event.

　　Nominations are invited for invited speakers, who will deliver the plenary lectures dealing with the current most important topics. Self-nominations are also welcome.

　　Please provide us with a short abstract of the lecture and a brief CV of the potential speaker. Nominations should be made (preferably by E-mail) to the Chairman or the Secretary General of the Local Organizing Committee before the end of April 2012.
