Theconferenceprovidesauniqueforumforresearchersatuniversitiesandresearchinstitutions,engineersinelectricalutilitiesandindustrialfirmsandworld-wideknownspecialiststopresentstateoftheartfindingsintheareaofelectricalpowerengineeringandotherrelateddisciplines.

In1989,MEPCONhasbeenjointly-organizedbyCairoandAssiutUniversitiesinEgypt.In1992,1996and2009,AssiutUniversityhostedtheconferencethatwasheldinAssiut,LuxorandAssiutcities,respectively.ItisnowthefifthturnforAssiutUniversitytohosttheconferencein2021.Duringthelastthreedecades,MEPCONisknownasthegreatestelectricalpowerengineeringeventinEgyptandMiddleEastregion.
