TheprimaryobjectiveofIEEEInternationalSymposiumonSmartElectronicSystems(IEEE–iSES,formerlyIEEE–iNIS)istoprovideaplatformforbothhardwareandsoftwareresearcherstointeractunderoneumbrellaforfurtherdevelopmentofsmartelectronicsystems.Efficientandsecuredatasensing,storage,andprocessingplaypivotalrolesincurrentinformationage.Thestate-of-the-artsmartelectronicsystemscatertotheneedsofefficientsensing,storage,andcomputing.Atthesametime,efficientalgorithmsandsoftwareusedforfasteranalysisandretrievalofdesiredinformationarebecomingincreasinglyimportant.Bigdatawhicharelarge,complexdatasets,arenowapartoftheInternetworld.Storingandprocessingneedsoftheenormousamountofstructuredandunstructureddataaregettingincreasinglychallenging.Atthesametime,InternetofThings(IoT)andcyber-physicalsystems(CPS)havebeenevolvingwithsimultaneousdevelopmentofhardwareandsoftwareandspanacrosseverydayconsumerelectronics.Theperformanceandefficiencyofthepresentaswellasthefuturegenerationsofcomputingandinformationprocessingsystemsarelargelydependentuponadvancesinbothhardwareandsoftware.
