TheInternationalWheatCongress(IWC)isabiennialwheatacademiceventwithhighinternationalvisibilityandgreatacademicinfluence,whichiscombinedwiththeInternationalWheatGeneticsSymposium(IWGS)andInternationalWheatConference(IWC).ThefirstIWCwassuccessfullyheldinSaskatoon,CanadainJuly2019,whilethesecondonewasoriginallyscheduledtobeheldinBeijinginSeptember2021.DuetotheglobaloutbreakofCOVID-19,theLocalOrganizingCommittee(LOC)decidedtopostponetheCongress.AfterconsultingwiththeInternationalOrganizationCommittee(IOC),wehereannouncethattheSecondIWCwillbeheldinBeijingInternationalConventionCenterduringSeptember12-16,2022,andtheThirdIWCtobehostedbyAustraliawillbepostponedto2024.

ThesecondIWCwillinvitewell-knowninternationalexpertsandscholarstodeliveryacademicspeeches,inthefieldsofwheatresearchincludingwheatdiversity,evolutionandgeneticresources;structuralandfunctionalgenomicsofwheatanditsrelatives;newtechnologiesforbreedingandphysiology;wheatproductionsystem-environment,sustainabilityandmanagement;productionsecurity-bioticandabioticstressresistance;wheatapplication-function,nutrition,safetyandhumanhealth;wheattradeandinternationalcooperation,etc.TheCongresswillbelive-streamedonitswebsiteandseveralsocialmedias.Inaddition,theposterspresentation,fieldvisits,culturalandsocialeventswillmaketheeventmorecolorful.
